About the project
The Brief
Heleen Meyer, a renowned food consultant, approached us to produce a video series titled Eat.Cook.Live.Better. The series, primarily in Afrikaans, needed to be accessible to both Afrikaans and English-speaking audiences, so the videos required English subtitles. The aim was to highlight healthy eating habits and showcase Heleen’s expertise in preparing delicious, nutritious meals. The shoot was to take place in Heleen’s studio, and it was essential to create an engaging and visually appealing presentation of the cooking process.
The Solution
We filmed the entire series in Heleen’s studio, using multiple camera angles to capture the preparation of the meals from various perspectives. By employing different lighting techniques, we ensured that the colors of the food were vibrant and appealing, creating an inviting atmosphere for the viewers. The focus was not only on the food but also on Heleen’s step-by-step guidance, making the process clear for both Afrikaans and English audiences. Subtitles were carefully added during post-production to ensure the translation was seamless and accessible for everyone.
Involvement
Our involvement covered the full production cycle, from filming at Heleen’s studio to editing and subtitling the content. We paid particular attention to the camera work and lighting, which brought out the textures and colors of the products. Post-production included adding the English subtitles for the Afrikaans dialogue, ensuring the videos reached a broader audience. The final videos were tailored to provide clear, visually compelling content that resonated with both language groups, contributing to the success of the Eat.Cook.Live.Better series.
